This is a compounded prescription product and has not been approved by the FDA. The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs. 

Important Information: 

This should only be taken by the patient whose name appears on the prescription label.

  • Active Ingredients and Common Side Effects
    • Minoxidil is a vasodilator used topically to treat hair loss.
      • Minoxidil’s most common side effect when used topically is irritation at the application site, such as redness and itching. It may also cause changes in color or texture of hair.
    • Finasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor used off-label topically to treat hair loss.
      • Finasteride's most common side effect when used topically is irritation at the application site, such as redness, itching, irritation, stinging and burning, and a dry or flaky scalp.
      • Finasteride may be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream.  This may cause low sex drive, sexual dysfunction (i.e. ejaculation disorders, erectile dysfunction), fatigue, anxiety,  suicidal ideation, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and/or testicular pain.
      • Fiansteride has a risk of inadvertent exposure to others through the handling and transfer of applied products. Wash shared surfaces that come into contact with the treatment site frequently (e.g., bedding) and do not share head coverings while using this medication.
      • Side effects can persist after product discontinuation.
    • Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal used off-label topically to treat hair loss.
      • Ketoconazole’s most common side effect when used topically is irritation at the application site, such as redness, stinging, and itching.
    • Biotin is a B vitamin used orally and in topical hair care products.
      • Biotin is generally well tolerated, but may cause irritation at the application site when used topically.
  • Dexpanthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) is a B vitamin used topically to moisturize and may help protect the skin from irritation.

  • Directions for Use
    • Apply once daily to the affected area of your scalp as directed by your prescriber.
    • For topical serums, separation of the formula may be normal. Shake well before use.
    • Do not expose the treatment site to excessive sunlight as it may increase the likelihood of skin irritation.
    • Remove any excess medication that gets on your face with gentle soap and water. Hair can grow anywhere on the skin that the medication comes into contact with after repeated use.
  • Storage
    • Store your compounded medication at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C) in the packaging provided by the pharmacy until you need it. Keep out of reach of children.
    • Under certain circumstances a prescription drug’s effectiveness may be affected by exposure to extremes of heat, cold, light, or humidity.
  • Precautions and contraindications
    • For external use only.
    • Keep out of your mouth, nose, and eyes.
    • Do not take this medication if you are allergic to any of the components.
    • Wash your hands before and after use.
    • Perform a patch test to ensure that you don’t have an allergic reaction or sensitivity to the ingredients. Apply a small amount to a discreet area of your skin, such as the inside of your wrist or behind your ears. Monitor for any signs of irritation or reactions.
    • Pregnancy - This compounded medication contains finasteride, which is contraindicated in females of childbearing potential. Women who are planning to get pregnant, are pregnant, or are breast-feeding should avoid contact with finasteride. Males should wash hands after use to prevent exposure.
    • Minoxidil is suspected to be TOXIC TO CATS AND DOGS. Please do not allow cats, dogs, or other pets to ingest this medication or to come into contact with the treatment site after the medication has been applied.
  • Missed Dose
    • If you miss an application of the medication, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, wait until then and apply the prescribed amount. Do not apply extra medicine to make up for the missed application. Check your prescription label for the correct dose prescribed by your medical provider.
