- Directions for Use
- Inspect your vial before each use. Do not use if the solution contains particles and/or is cloudy or unclear.
Inject subcutaneously once daily, around the same time each day, with or without meals. You may inject into the abdomen, front of your thigh, or the back of your upper arm. Rotate the site each day. Below is a diagram showing common injection sites.
- A subcutaneous injection is an injection into the fatty tissue located just under the skin. To do this, hold the syringe between your index and middle fingers, with your thumb on the plunger, and position it at a 90-degree angle to the skin. Carefully insert the needle all the way into your skin, and slowly push the plunger to inject the medication. Once all the medication has been injected, gently remove the needle from your skin.
- The compounded liraglutide dose is increased gradually to help minimize side effects. Refer to your prescription label for your dosage plan.
- The concentration of your medication may change with a new prescription. Always refer to your prescription label, provider counseling, and dosage plan to ensure you are getting the correct dose. Confirm you have the correct vial for your scheduled dose
- Use as directed by your prescribing provider, as they may tailor your dosing to your individual response.
- After injecting, dispose of your used syringe in a sharps container. If you do not have one, you can use a plastic bin such as an empty milk jug or laundry detergent container.
- Needles are for a single use only and should never be reused or shared with others.
