Why do I have to pay an extra fee for my labs in some states?

New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island

In a few states, regulations require the lab to bill the patient directly for their portion of the service.  This is due to state laws that prevent us from bundling the fees. We’ll provide you with a breakdown of these costs and what they cover. 

If you’re in New York, New Jersey, or Rhode Island, when you go to your in person lab appointment you’ll be charged a lab fee by Quest (for performing the blood draw and tests). You’ll have two charges: one paid to Hims & Hers for our services, and a separate charge at Quest for the lab work. 

If you're also participating in our Galleri Multi-Cancer Detection screening you will also receive an invoice from Grail.  In all you will have three charges: one paid to Hims & Hers for our services, a charge at Quest for the blood draw, and a final charge from Grail for the lab processing.  

All Other States

In all other states, you do not need to pay anything at the lab – the Hims & Hers purchase covers it.
